The Sunday Washington Post had a big article about St. Louis in its travel section. I'll try to find a link - and login - but it didn't come up in my first couple of searches.
Thanks! I'm actually putting together a pimp post this week, so I'll try to dig for that as well.
Also, my baby sister lives in Albuquerque, and works at Sadie's, which I think is this place right here: [link]
Yay for ABQ pimpage. I would love it if you guys came out my way (although by mid June I'll be back midwest probably; we booked a camp this summer.) Can testify to most of the above, especially re: the ease and niceness of the airport and the awesomeness of the Aquarium, which is also on the same grounds of a nice botanical garden which includes a great Japanese garden. You can also take the train over from the aquarium to the zoo, but the zoo is not as awesome.
There is also some pretty easy travel up to Santa Fe, which is a great town, but can be expensive to stay in, so day trip might be a great option there. Santa Fe has the Georgia O'Keeffe museum, and some other great art stuff.
I'm sorry, I'm not going to be able to get my act together to finish finding a (choice of) hotel(s) with the amenities we need. With Ray passing and the funeral, I just did not have the concentration last week, and I don't think I can regroup in a timely fashion. So I am bowing out of pimping Minneapolis.
If someone can Nilly the awesome post Erin (I think) posted about talking to hotels, I can shoot that to a couple of hotels in MSP. I know the area pretty well for someone only there twice, and I love the city. I'm happy to pimp it in place of Andi.
Aims, if you are willing to do that, that would be lovely. It's the Holiday Inn & Suites on Appletree Square in Bloomington that would not give me straight answers about fees. Which is a shame because it looked very nice, and had shuttles to both the airport and the Mall of America.
Aims
I'm from the Twin Cities and still have relatives there that can do an on-site visit to the hotel or suggest other potential locations. My profile address is good - let me know if I can help in the planning in any way.
The Radisson in downtown was the one that had the room block for my brother's wedding and those rooms were only $99/night. I'm hoping they'd do that if not better. I'll also check the Hilton across the street since they have a pool and are connected to Fogo de Chau.
