Then I pimp Albuquerque. I have a basic knowledge of the city as far as hotels and suchlike.
F2F5: I forget that everyone isn't us
Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon.
YAY ABQ! That (or Santa Fe) would be a really fun F2F, but I definitely would consider that West.
Well, if NM is West, CO should be West.
On practical grounds, I feel like I should be working on pimping Minneapolis. IIRC it is a hub for at least one major airline and therefore would be relatively easy for transport, in addition to being highly convenient for me and Daniel to get to. But I can't say I have intimate knowledge of the city, as I have only rarely ventured into it, and have never used public transport around it. Additionally, weather here in June is much more likely to be comfortable than in Texas (although we all know what a crap shoot it is to gamble on weather). I know there are zillions of wonderful, wacky, adventures to be had in the area, but I generally can't think of them off-hand.
I think that the question is whether you're willing to take point, organize, do the research, etc.
I'm trying to get a handle on precisely what that entails. Calling hotels to discuss room rates on blocks of rooms plus hospitality suite plus space for prom (and/or hunt for an alternate venue), that I can do. If I can narrow it down to a couple of choices, Daniel and I should be able to go lay eyes on the places to make a final choice. I will definitely need assistance in hunting up activities to suggest to the group, and will likely need a partner in crime actually staying in the hotel. Actually shopping for snacks and beverages for the hospitality suite, that I can do, if presented with a list of suggestions. And if there are bits that I have just left out, then I need someone(s) to be able to say, "Hey, what about ____?"
It would be easy enough to define locales by time zone, wouldn't it? With Mountain either being lumped in with Pacific or Central?
With Mountain either being lumped in with Pacific or Central?
Will no one think of Arizona?
Heh. Pretty sure AZ is solid West.
Yes, but sometimes it's Mountain time and sometimes Pacific.
Maybe that's an argument for Mountain being West.
