Mal: Then I call it a win. What's the problem? Inara: Should I start with the part where you're stranded in the middle of nowhere, or the part where you have no clothes?

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

Yeah, they make trainees do that sometimes, the thought is that taking more than few days off slows down momentum in the training process. True, but my Mom might drop dead of sadness and betrayal if i reneg on plans to visit her! If they were really concerned they should never have approved me getting three consecutive weeks off when i requested the time back in January. Jerks.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

WTF? I never heard of having to "give back" vacation time.

Vacation time is part of your compensation. They're doing it wrong. Perhaps even illegally so.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

My hunch is she's not losing the time, just the ability to take it in a three-week chunk. At least I would hope that's the case.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Erin, how ridiculous! I'm sorry.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

That sucks, Erin. I'm sorry.

DC-istas, I'm going to be in your fair city next week for a conference, June 2-4. (The InterActive Conference, if anyone else is going.) If DC people would like to grab a drink or something on the 3rd, that would be great. (I'm leaving on a 5pm-ish flight on the 4th.) Just let me know.

I still get the time, i just am not being allowed to use it while i'm in certain phases of training. (And i've been in training for all but about a month since September of 2008. It gets old to sign up vacation chunks and then get them pulled away.)

erin, I don't know if I've ever said it before, but I'm very impressed and proud of you for what you decided to do.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

So who all is coming to Providence? It's just a month away!!!!

I still have some rooms on hold so if you can't get a reservation let me know and I'll hook ya up.

The status is NOT quo.

ND will be out of town, but I will try to come to prom. I don't think I can afford to spend the night this time, but that may change depending on what happens for the next month.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Dammit, I don't know if I can come now! Leo's vet bill took all my spare cash. I need to see if I've got the resources after I get paid Friday.

I already put in for the vacation days!
