Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

The RI National Guard Airshow is going on the same weekend as the planned F2F. Granted, it's in North Kingstown, but DH has heard that hotels in Providence and Newport are filling up quickly.

If this is going to happen, it's got to happen soon.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Trudy, that hotel is a half hour outside of the city and much closer to the air show that Maria just mentioned. It doesn't really matter to me, but I want to make you aware fwiw.

OK, just spoke to Orbitz, Hampton Inn only has one room left so that's out.

I just left a message at the Hampton Inn directly rather than at Orbitz to see if they can offer me any kind of group rate.

How many rooms to you think we are looking at needing?

Beats me. We need to find a place with some rooms and go with it. In town, just out of town, way the hell out of town, whatever.

OK, called Hampton Inn & Suites Downtown directly.

They only have four rooms left on that weekend. I have booked them so they don't go away. Obviously this is only a temporary measure.

They have one suite which is a two rooms, a king bed in one and a pull out bed/sitting area in the other.

The other three have a king bed.

Now, the prices. If we pay when we arrive it is one, if we book on line seven days in advance (non-refundable) we get a substantial discount.

Suite: 169.00 135.00
Room: 129.00 103.00

The reviews look good. They have free wifi, free breakfast. The airport shuttle is free with the in-advance package, can't tell if it is with the regular booking.

If we can coordinate this, we can get the cheaper rate. If three or four of you can commit to booking a room un-refundable I'll cancel the reservation and we'll quickly book on-line. We'd have to do that by, let's say, June 1st. (That builds in some time in case there is a lag between my cancelling and our ability to book on-line)

If 3 of you will book a room now we can move on this now. Any takers?

Thanks, Trudy. They never called me back yesterday. Maybe you want to repost in Press? I can book a room if we need me to, but I don't want to if I am taking a room from someone who will use it.

Our wings are not tired.

I can book one of them Trudy. Then if we need it for someone else I can let them take it and stay with a friend in the area. How do we switch it from you to me?

“Not dead yet!”

x-posted in Natter:

Just made my reservations for the SCBWI conference in LA in late July. Conference is being held at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza, so that's also where I'm staying. I'm coming in on the 29th and leaving early on the 3rd.

So excited! Haven't been to LA in SO long. Def. looking forward to seeing LAistas!

Excellent. We should both be back in town by the end of July.

Ideally, we'll switch from me, to nobody, to booking them on-line and saving some coin.

We've got Laura, and SJ. If we can get one or two more we can do this. We just have to time it right. WOOT!
