You know what the chain of command is? It's the chain I go get and beat you with until you understand who's in ruttin' command here.

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon.

Not javachik

That's what we call a joke.

Really? there are so many other things you might have said. "I know, right?!" "Ha!" "Or how about Alaska in December?"

And the "we" I suspect you assume is the collective Buffistas, not the royal we? What is the point of being nasty to me? What I have EVER done to you?

The status is NOT quo.

x-post from Press

I'm summarizing what I've inferred from our conversations here.

We need to vote on a F2F city as soon as possible.

The things many of us seem concerned about are making sure that there is a point person once the vote happens (especially for Philly since we've had a number of people helping, but I'm not sure who ultimately will take over hotel reservations and such) and making sure the bids are viable (Providence bid is a month old) before we vote.

We need to resolve this since we are two months away from the weekend picked (June 26-27), and if we don't book soon we may need to cancel.

On a side note, Java Cat, fwiw, I've heard "that's what we call a joke" used as a substitute for "I was just joking" many times before. I think Trudy just meant that she didn't intend those suggestions as serious ones.

Anyway, not wading into it any further than that. Just wanted to say that I don't think it was meant to be nasty.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I'm sorry. I was delaying posting because I was hoping to add a second hotel bid to my pimping, but I just heard back from the last hotel that they will be unable to work with us. This is the hotel bid we do have for Providence: here

And here is my city pimpage.

Pix, what else do you need from me.

That's it as long as you've verified from the hotel that the bid is still valid...?

Hey. New board.

I'll be voting for Philly because I can't really afford a hotel night this summer, but can afford the bus into Philly on Saturday or Sunday, and could probably even catch a late one after Prom, given some research. Providence is harder, though still potentially possible.

I have e-mailed to verify, but I am waiting to hear back.

Great. Let us know when you hear.

Because books.

javachik's pimping starts here. Since the Philly hotel bid is just a week old, I'm going to assume it's still valid.

My problem is I'm not sure I can attend anymore. I'm going to NC early in the month to scope it out as a possible place for us to move. We want to be settled before school starts in the fall for the kids, and to do that we have to make some decisions really soon. So ... I hope Philly is still an option for people? It would require someone to step up as point person, though.

By the way, Kristin, thanks very much for prodding the process along like you have.
