The National Gallery of Art's West Building also has a nice sit-down restaurant. All in all - cafeteria, bistro, etc. - much nicer than a lot of museums.

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon.
That's right! The one on the West side feels very 'ferny' to me. I've eaten there while a string quartet played nearby. Very nice.
Air & Space had a McDonald's at one time. Never ate there, and haven't been in that museum much since the metal detectors went in. (American Indian has metal detectors, too, but they just wave you through unless you're carrying a bag or package.)
Since I always carry a bag of some sort, I've gotten used to having it checked - I plop the open bag on the table and hold it open, the guard pokes into it with a stick, and then waves me through. It's fairly uncomplicated, if annoying.
When I was at Air&Space in 2003 there was a Boston Market franchise on the east side. It was pretty good.
OK, reading about the Native American cafe has given me a craving for buffalo meat.
Hee. We're about to have a whole dang lot of buffalo meat; the SO is heading out in a week to harvest one.
I think I was thwarted in getting some this weekend. I went to Ruby Tuesday's Saturday and ordered the bison bacon cheeseburger, but I think I got a regular smokehouse beef burger instead. Oh well, at least the salad was excellent.
Hi all. I'm back safe n sound in TX. I'm over 400 posts behind in Bitches. Silly work, punishing me for going on vacation with a MILLION e-mails! Blargh.
Anyhow, wanted to thank those that met up with, or tried to, while in DC! I had a blast in your fair city. I can't wait to go back and enjoy more of the museums. I really need about a month I think.

Hi folks!
Still getting proposals from hotels, but the frontrunner right now is Hotel Nexus. They're a little far away from the center of Seattle, but there's still a lot to do there and they have a complimentary scheduled shuttle to other points of interest. Room are $119/night, and include free parking, free wifi, and complimentary breakfast.
I should have a full workup of all the proposals by Monday next week - I'm not very worried about rooms filling up, since apparently no one is booking right now. Even the Hilton wants to wheel and deal.
