I thought graduations were early June.
Depends. Colleges are usually mid May. High schools can range from late May to late June, with schools in northeastern states usually the latest. And there's always going to be a few schools that just have weird schedules.
Our HS seniors finish May 7th with graduation on May 15th. There is a wide variety around the country.
I don't suppose April would be an option instead of May...? Or is May in particular desirable for some? (Not at all trying to be snarky, honestly asking).
May was the tradition b/c it happened after the final airing of BtVS and AtS so we could all OMGWTFSPIKEGOTASOUL! together.
Earlier, like April, is fine for me since it's closer to tax return / bonus money being available for use. My only concern would be the "it's too cold" issues, depending on location.
Mid-May just seemed obvious since we've used it before and had teachers / parents attend.
What Aims said. The first F2F was planned for the week after the BtVS season finale. Other scheduling (tight for some but not impossible for too many) was a bonus or at least a not-too-badness.

On the other hand, it's perfect for the warmer weather climes to be an option.
I'd love to see an April date as a possibility next time around—some of my best non-buffista vacations have been in the spring.
My academic schedule is such that July is usually impossible, so I'd love to see earlier dates May.
