Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

The teacher factor should certainly be a factor... but lots of people leave town Friday and get home on Sunday for the F2Fs. It's certainly not an impossible thing to do.

At the LAF2F, I completed my hangover hurling in the Roscoe's bathroom before they served us. It's actually really good hangover food, as it turns out.

Huh, I was oblivious to that. Probably because I was mesmerized by the stack of fried and battered chicken livers on my plate.

I would assume there might be a prep issue for teachers. When I taught on Fridays and Mondays, weekends-off really didn't exist.

Vortex, do you remember how much the hotel you stayed at in Brooklyn was?

oh, my hotel was awesome, but it was 200+, I think. Work was paying.

Our wings are not tired

I know that I stayed at a Raddisson in NYC that was a total sty. Just a crap stack of a hotel, and that was from a major chain. I do know that I'm a bit picky on hotels though. Thing is with Manhattan there are ways to get around so if we can come I'd probably just do a room at the Muse or something like that no matter what.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

My *company* couldn't afford to hold our annual meeting in NYC, because with ~500 people, we were too small to get good rates.

On the up side, if we go to NYC, you all could meet my ex. On the down side, if we go to NYC... you all could meet my ex.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I used to work in an office out of the Hotel Pennsylvania and would like to vote a big fat NO on it for the reasons Tom has already mentioned. It's icky.

The Brooklyn Marriott might be a good option - it's a chain so they'll definitely have group rates, I can vouch for it's being clean and comfy, and it's across the street from two stations that serve almost every single subway line between them.

“Not dead yet!”

The Brooklyn Marriott is a lovely hotel (one of the many places in NYC I've stayed at).

Do I get to be mean to him? Cause that could be fun!

I have also stayed at the Hotel Penn and vote heck no on that.

I ask again...Baltimore? Lots of buffistas in driving or train range, cheap airport, some interesting museums/aquarium for an outing, a couple fun shopping hoods...
