My current hotel is right near Annabelle's, and I looked at their menu and there don't seem to be many vegan options. I kind of want to try this place [link] , but I don't know if anyone else is interested, or quite where it is. (My conference is at the Moscone Center, so I've been checking out most of the restaurants in this area already.) I'm open to pretty much whatever, I just kind of don't want to have to do my usual "I'll have this dish, but without these three things, and with these things added, and that will make it vegan, right?" in a city that's supposed to have such a good selection of vegan food. (I have noticed that, even at the places that don't have many options, every waiter and waitress has known what the word "vegan" meant and could point out exactly what I should order. I usually have to stick to "I'm a vegetarian, and I don't eat dairy or eggs" in most non-hipster places in DC.)
F2F5: I forget that everyone isn't us
Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon.
Hil, that place is in the Mission, which is easy to get to on BART. If your hotel is by Annabelle's, then you are near the Powell St. BART station, so getting to Gracias Madre should be no problem. The place does look interesting.
My post got eaten and I don't have time to rewrite.
I hate Cafe Gratitude and the fact that it's so entwined with Landmark Forum, so I hold that against Madres (whose founders also founded Cafe Gratitude). I also think Annabelle's would make something delightfully vegan for you, too.
Hil, have you heard of Millenium? A bit pricey but I've only heard awesome things about it.
I've heard that Millennium is great, but I think I'm saving that for sometime after I get a job. It's a bit outside my price range right now.
Yeah, that would be an excellent reward!
That sounds like an interesting menu. Pretty far from the museum, but I think we will drive in, so maybe the distance won't matter so much. And both places are near BART stations, so that's an option.
So, I think DH and I want to get to the museum close to 11. We could brunch before, somewhere, and go together after, or we could meet at the museum and have lunch after. I'm pretty flexible on times through the middle of the day. Any SF-istas up for the meal? Or the museum, for that matter?
I would be up for the meal, probably not the museum.

Either of those sound good to me.
Omnis I would be ever so grateful if you could pick me up.
Hey. How you doin'?
