I'm going to be in SF for a conference from January 12 through January 16. I'm not flying back to DC until the 18th, so that I can have some time to see people and explore the city without the pressures of having to get back to conference stuff in time. But I can't stay at the same hotel for those last two nights. So, I'm trying to figure out what my options are so that I can decide where to stay. Anybody have a couch I can crash on the nights of January 16 and January 17?
Also, any SFistas want to get together on the 16th or 17th? I'm not sure what sort of free time all have from the 12th to the 16th, but I know I'll be free the afternoon and evening of the 16th and all day the 17th.
Laga, did you get my e-mail from last week?
Hil, as far as I know, I'm free that weekend for getting together. Also possibly couching.
backflung from gmail. I'm not good about checking my yahoo account.
Are any Buffistas going to be in the NC Triangle area over New Year's Eve? I'll be hosting a NYE open house, with prosecco and chit-chat, and all Buffistae in the area (as residents or visitors) are welcome. Just drop an email at my contact address and I'll send the Evite link your way.
I'll be in Boston Dec 31 - January 5. I'll mostly be spending time with my boyfriend (and his new very cool apartment on Commonwealth!), but I would love to see anyone who wants to get together.
For anyone in the Portland area next Monday evening (December 21): I know it is a Monday night, but i'm planning on throwing a low-key Solstice Party at my new house, starting after 7pm. What better time to celebrate my new home than during the longest, darkest night of the year? Help me celebrate the return of the sun - just don't plan on keeping me up until dawn!
eta: lemme know if you need my address and don't already have it.
So I just made air and hotel reservations to go to LA 1/22-1/24. Sure hope there is stuff to do that weekend.
I picked the HI-express because of the free parking and breakfast. Also, consistent previous experience. Not so fancy, but no problems either.

Eee!!!! That's a great little hotel, Laura. We stayed there when we lost heat and hot water. Did you pick it off the wedding website? I'm very proud of my hotel list.
Did I mention eeeee!?
