If you're seriously considering Myrtle, may I throw a little more temptation on that part of the scale? Brookgreen Gardens is gorgeous, with a managed population of indigenous wildlife, beautifully maintained and manicured horticulture, and a renowned collection of sculptures, many of which are on loan from museums and private owners around the world.
The gardens are open and lit after dark, which dramatically presents some of the sculptures completely differently than in daylight. If Buffistas are going to be in the area and can organize cars, Murrell's Inlet is certainly driving distance either from Myrtle or North Myrtle.
Given how much people complained about the heat in DC, I'm surprised that SC is being considered.
Right on the ocean is different, though. DC's special, too - when I moved there from Atlanta I thought it would be easy. Wrong.
Yeah, I've been to Myrtle Beach in August and it was pretty comfy climate-wise. No hotter than our Atlanta f2f, at any rate.
Brenda, I'll be happy to play tour guide (work permitting) if you ever find yourself back in the area. But I figured with a wedding and all, your time was probably spoken for.
DC has that special "I'm in a swamp!" quality you don't necessarily get on the coast.
OTOH, Savannah had that quality when I was there in March!
Do we have anyone on the ground in SC near Myrtle Beach?
Well, if we're looking to shock some locals...
I think we should invite this person to the next F2F Prom.

Ahahahaha! Should Eddie Izzard come to our Prom he would be mobbed and plied with many drinks and most likely molested. Funny, awesome man. Toddson, have you never heard/seen Dressed to Kill or his other works? You must, for he is hilarious.
t does not get the Eddie Izzard love
