I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I've been to that cemetery!

Of course, it also takes me three flights to get to Richmond. t sigh

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Providence! Providence! Providence!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I grew up in a tiny rural "town" - no post office - called Providence, that wasn't even on the map until recently. It was 1925 there at the time. It may be up to 1950 by now. I hated it, and it didn't like me much either.

Whenever I see a reference to Providence, the undoubtedly fine town in Rhode Island, I get an existential shiver. As if, I might take a left out of the airport and find myself back on the steep downhill road to grandma's house.

Hm. Actually, that might make a decent horror story.

Given that the undoubtedly fine town in Rhode Island is the home of the Chthulhu mythos, horror stories would not be out of place.

I didn't know that!

The Miskatonic F2F. Has a ring to it. A ring of EVIL.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Providence is also easily with in driving distance of Boston, Newport, Worcester (turtle boy!) If people wanted to do day trips.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I could be down with Providence. What's the public transportation like?

Sail, if we can get one of hotels in downtown we would be in easy walking distance of a mall and a bunch of restaurants. In the city there are buses and cabs, but to go to the other cities, it would probably be easiest to carpool.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

I have been woefully not monitoring this thread. Are people coming to Portland, OR? Soonish? I am here! I have free evenings and enjoy wining and dining and pedicures!

Re: F2F, i was born and raised in Richmond. Hollywood Cemetrary is indeed a gorgeous (and ginormous) place, and the city is lovely, but i also hate it for various personal reasons. However, i never mind an excuse to visit with the parentals and old friends.

The status is NOT quo.

Providence would rock! Actually any place that would allow me to combine F2F with my annual visit to the family in late June or early July would rock. (Yes, I know this is not All About Me, but ND and I would hate to miss our first wedded F2F, but we'll also be juggling a family celebration for my East Coast relatives next summer. I doubt we could make two trips, but, FTR, I will totally schedule my family stuff around the F2F if possible!)
