Oh yes, San Diego will require far more planning, as it is more of the sprawl. But quite nice nonetheless! heads up for ComiCon weather: it will be sunny and in the high 70's your entire stay, barring EXTREME weather conditions like, er, haze. Pack parasols and SPF 90000.
Oh, I expect San Diego will be in the 80's. It always has been every time I've been.
