Yeah, but you're an amateur fry cook and I come from a long line of fry cooks that don't live past 25.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

my animals did *not* get the memo about allowing me to sleep. Last night and the night before i have been awoken by evil kitten doing the scratchy thing that bodes imminent urination. First night i immediately airlifted him to the bathroom and locked him in, which left me with the rest of the night full of Nico being a total jerk. Last night i spirited *both* into the bathroom and then slept very well indeed.....until i woke up with damp feet and realized that the bladder of doom was released before i locked kitties in the bathroom. *sigh* about 6 hours of soak time, there goes my mattress.

Hey SF-area folks!

Pete and I are going to be in Burlingame on Friday. (A Gothic Charm School reading at Books Inc. at 7PM!) Perkins very cleverly reminded me that I had not actually posted anything about this in this thread.

(So maybe I can meet Omnis' people in person, heyyyy...)
Sweet! F will be there, but her DW is on a boat, learning to sail the next class up. 3 day intensive class. Perfectly overlapping with my visit. It was a once in a lifetime for her, poorly timed for me. So sad. Oh well. But YES! Meara, you can meet F, and get some of the skinny on where/who to meet.

ION. Still lazy. Housecleaner folks still not here. Now I want to shower and get out in the world, but feel I should wait longer so bathroom can be cleaned. If I was a 5 minute shower type of person, not a problem. Alas, I am not.

So the iPhone photo's I uploaded during the week are now added to the pool. So they should be easier to find in flickr. I have some more, including the zoo shot (half-dozen folks in print robes on a couch).

Our wings are not tired.

jilli, I've been peppering the Bay Area with postcards and can't wait until Friday! Do you guys have plans before/after?

What are your east coast plans, Jilli?

Ahahahaha, plans. Right. Um, there has been vague talk of dinner. That's all I can remember.

What are your east coast plans, Jilli?

We're in NYC July 17-19 or 20th. (My vague plan and grasp of dates, let me show you!) I've got a reading at the Mysterious Bookshop on the evening of the 17th, and an afternoon picnic at Green-Wood cemetery on the 18th. That's the only east cost stop we've got, because of budget. If someone can find an east coast-ish con that wants me & Pete as guests AND is willing to pay expenses, let me know. (This is where I should put a winky-smiley emoticon.)

For SF, there have been vague plans both before and after the event. Vague is probably good until we've landed and unpacked. BTW, Javachik, we took your advice on hotel choice.

OK, all my iPhone photos are in the Group Flickr. I included scenic stuff too. Let me know if I should remove those? Dang I miss y'all already. Where is next years? When? O wait. Too soon for that.

Oh, local hosts have this GREAT book, "Seattle Architecture, a walking guide to downtown" by Maureen R Elenga. For those that were commenting on the buildings, it's a great book.

eta link to Amazon. I think I did the buffista affiliate link, but not entirely sure how that works: [link]

Oh, good. For the price, that Sheraton can't be beat. If you guys are up to drinks or something after the reading, I hope to tag along. I will even be in black for the occasion.
