Anya, the Shopkeepers of America called. They wanted me to tell you that 'please go' just got replaced with 'have a nice day.'

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

That was a sort of modified Borda count -- give 3 points for each first place vote, 2 points for each second place vote, one point for each "other" vote, and subtract a point for each person who said they couldn't make it.)

Oooh, hey. That's what I wanted to do, but I didn't know if it made mathy sense or not, and then my boss continued on her campaign of insanity and I had to go be her Sancho Panza.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I'd like to see the can't comes weighted more heavily. Otherwise that looks great.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Well, the subtracting one point was kind of arbitrary. I tried running the current numbers with subtracting two points for each "can't come," and it barely changed the results -- only thing that changed was that the weekend that had been in fourth place became tied for third. But just one or two more votes could change any of this, so I'm not going to really analyze it until after the poll closes.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

I'm heading to DC next week for copyright meetings. I thought I was going to have no spare time, but it looks like I might, so if anyone wants to get together, let me know. It looks like I'll have the morning and early afternoon of 12/10, afternoon and evening of 12/12, and possibly one other evening, available.

I thought I was staying at Jurys Washington Hotel, but when I went to look up the address online, I discovered that they're closed for remodeling. Lovely of them not to have mentioned that to me, despite my confirmed reservation. Anyhoo, our travel office is currently trying to reserve me a new room. Once again, Buffistas have saved the day, as I probably wouldn't have checked the website if I weren't posting here. Thank you!

I have email and cell phone in my profile. X-posty with Press.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

It occurs to me that, although I said I couldn't do June 5th - 7th, I actually kind of maybe could.

Hmm.

I mean - I should be back at school on June 8th, in Bangkok, which makes it very much less than ideal and probably not doable...but I'm off school from 3rd - 7th for the Half Term holiday, so it's not totally inconceivable. Just highly highly impractical. But....want!

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Fay, did you include the dateline in your calculations?
