Pretty cool except for the part where I was really terrified and now my knees are all dizzy.

Yes, there is supposed to be free internet throughout. They also have a wide pipe due to a lot of Microsoft events held there.

On another note, since I may not be seeing any of the localistas until later in the day on Friday, I just want to ask if there are any parts near downtown that should be avoided.

Don't go up to the Castle Pioneer Square after dark. Actually it has a pretty good nightlife but it also has its share of drunken hobos and other unpleasantries, but there are good parts and bad parts and I couldn't precisely tell you which is which because I've avoided it for years.

And, yes, the Underworld tour is very close to Pioneer Square so my simple advice is stick together and you'll be fine.

The area immediately around Pike Place Market can be a little so so at night too, but I think that's been improving.

Ultimately, while Seattle has its trouble-spots it's a relatively low-crime city.

Toast:

To all those flailing, I say Let It Be. People meet up in the HS or the lobby or wherever, decide to do something, and go. There will be a big thingy for writing things down on in the HS. But, if you flail too much about Plans, you'll stress yourself out unduly.

Yes, when, for example, she advises you to have a shot of Fernet instead of Jager, she is being both wise and trouble.

Actually, one of the things I love about the f2f is the lack of a need to make advance plans. I love the flow, and going with it. Ahhhhh... (sez Ms. Procrastinator Especial)

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I'm not sure about the wise part of that ....

I don't have much in the way of plans ... things usually sort out. Groups head out ... people see something, say "oh! shiny!" and amble off on their own.

My plans are mostly, see the Buffistas, talk, eat (salmon!), hang out, talk, maybe see some sights, talk ....

If you would like to be included on the contact list, please send me your information by 4PM EST on Wednesday. I will complete the spreadsheet and send it to all of those on the list Wednesday night. Also, if no one objects, I can upload it to Google docs and send the URL to everyone as a backup. It will be accessible to anyone with the URL, but will not be searchable by anyone else. I will take it down after the F2F. If this is not cool with anyone, I can take you off of the uploaded list and only keep you on the one that is emailed out.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I sent you something last Wednesday, Vortex.
