Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

You are all quite persuasive. Tomorrow I shall book a room and attempt to find a flight that won't cost me a spare kidney. If someone could move Seattle closer to Virginia, that'd be great. What's with this enormous land mass between me and the fun?

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Dude. I am crossing FOUR fucking continents to get there.

Dooooo eeeeet!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Geez, considering that the other way you only have to cross one little ocean, that seems excessive.

I agree! And yet this seems to be the direction people go.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Sounds like Fay is flying the equivalent to the US train system. For me to visit my sister in Orlando area (where there is a train station), I have to travel NORTH to Chicago, then over to the coast, then SOUTH to Florida, rather than just across the panhandle. 3 days! Crazy I tell you.

“Not dead yet!”

I think that's because the rails across the southern part of the U.S. are still in post-Katrina damage, omnis.

ah. Hadn't thought of that. I was wondering what happened to the Dixie Flyer that Randy Newman sang about.

So, moving Seattle closer to Virginia won't make a significant difference to you, then? Good, good.

And yet this seems to be the direction people go.

How bizarre! The airlines know the world is round, right? You'll be so jetlagged, you'll have caught up with your own sleep cycle by the time you get there. Faster than the speed of sleep!

Our wings are not tired.

That's completely weird. When I've traveled to China, Japan, etc, I've flown over the Pacific. Can't imagine going the other way. Ouch.

I would imagine it's more economical to take less fuel and make more refueling stops across Asia and Europe than to have every flight load up for the Pacific crossing.
