Also, I should mention that someone (Vortex) has a birthday tomorrow. Not sure if she has plans yet.
I have plans for dinner, but thought maybe people would like to come to the rooftop bar at the Line afterwards?
I'm in room 319 at the Line. I've texted Laura and Brenda in case anyone wants to hang out or grab a beverage. I think that Maria gets in late, like 11:30
Vortex! Went up to the rooftop with Brenda to see if you happened to be there. Back in our rooms now. Since I am in 419 I'll stomp on the floor to say hi! Phone number in profile.
I was just hanging out in my room and missed this. argh!
I'll be staying at the Grand Hyatt at SFO. I get in late tonight so will see people tomorrow! Since I am staying so south of the City, I will be wearing the same thing all day tomorrow so will likely be a little less dressed up than everyone else. Sunday I will be spending with my family, visiting my uncle who just entered hospice. I have a redeye Sunday night. Quick trip!
If I get in on time tonight, and have any energy, I'll text Vortex to see if people are hanging out on a roof or bar somewhere and come join you.
I have had terrible experiences using Flywheel but love Curb. I try to avoid Uber and the like, especially in SF. (I will say though that when I lived in Oakland I had a very hard time getting taxis and had to use Uber often.)
Re-posting my earlier call for dining companions tonight!
My flight gets in at 7:30 so I'm estimating I'll be at the hotel around 9 - anyone around for a late dinner? Or suggestions for food near the Majestic?
Steph, I am so sorry. I hope you're feeling better today.
I have plans to casually see some places today (candy store to get traditional sweet gifts for people and colleagues), visit the Presidio, and see what people are planing here to join in on lunch/dinner/other activities.
Let me know if anyone would like to hang out today. I'm also here on Sunday, and starting my travel back home on Monday morning.
My GI tract is still rebellious today, and I think I passed it on to Tim, which confirms it's likely contagious. I talked to my mom yesterday, crying a little about staying home, and she said "Your friends will still love you if you have to stay home, but they might have a harder time loving you if you give them the shits." (She has quite a way with words.) But it's true -- I wouldn't want to have passed this on. I'm super grateful the memorial will be live-streamed.
TepMom is wise. We’re planning on a late lunch at Nourish cafe, some wandering, and dinner at Shizen, no specific time. Probably not late enough to join you Jess.
{{{Tep}}}
I'll say maybe to dinner, Jess? That's pretty late for me but it would be great to see you! Once I'm off the clock and have made it into the city hopefully I will get energized for being out and about. I'm afraid I don't know that area but at all, but looking at a map I see the Bell Tower is close-ish and I know one of my friends really likes that place. I can't imagine I could actually wait to eat dinner until then but I could maybe nibble on second dinner and could almost certainly have a drink and a snack while you dine.
I'm sorry you are still sick, Teppy. I hope Tim escapes it. You will be missed. We are going to Ohio on our way north this year because I have a bunch of cousins there. Will try and make a quick stop on the way through. You did promise hugs!!
