Java, I'm so sorry to hear you've been so effectively sidelined - and on your lovely vacay too! I wish you plenty of upper-respiratory-ma, and hope you're back adventuring so soon!
amyth, so good to see you as well! Best of luck with this chemo round! Hope you bounce back easily and are home soon!
Thank you, everyone! What a sweet surprise to read these messages.
Hey all, Javachik and I are driving down for AmyPreble's memorial service this weekend. We'd love to meet up with any Buffistas who are also there. Probably too tired after the drive on Friday, but we're both free after the service for lunch or whatever. (cross posted to Beep Me)
I really wish I could go, but we get back from our road trip tomorrow, and I'm not up for doing another long drive so soon, nor am I crazy about the idea of getting right on an airplane either. I feel like I've maxed out my risk budget for the next few weeks at least. I don't know, now I'm sort of second-guessing myself, but I think staying home is the right call. I'm really sorry to miss it, though, and to miss seeing Buffistas.
Ah that’s a bummer, Kate, but understandable. We will miss you.
I'm looking forward to seeing y'all at the service, and fully expecting some kind of get-together to spontaneously erupt afterwards, just knowing us.
Do we have anyone in MSP? I will be there with DH and preschooler in mid-March
Hey there! I will be in NYC this Saturday! taking the redeye so I expect I will be extremely ready for brunch once I make it to the city. Is that a thing that we can make happen? My time is short but unstructured aside from seeing Hamlet 7-11 ish that evening, so any way I can see any of y'all would be great!
Nooooo I will be driving all day on Saturday to fetch my daughter home from sleepaway camp, but I hope y'all can make this happen and have a mimosa for me!
