Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Definitely go round Temple Bar. Starting near there (I think) we took a boat tour of the River Liffey that was fun and informative and a nice way to rest our feet. Also, just East (I think) of Temple Bar, there's Ha'penny Bridge with all the love locks all over it, that's pretty cool.

I was told by an Irishwoman that I "have a lip on me" which apparently means I can hold me liquor. A higher compliment never received.

And the Angelus bells

O'er the Liffey swells,

Rang out in the foggy dew

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I'm flying to Dublin on Friday for work. I'm probably only going to have some of Saturday and all day Sunday to do tourist stuff. Any recommendations? I've been to Trinity College to see the Long Room and the Book of Kells.

I recommend the Dublin Literary Bar Crawl

If you're a whisky drinker, I enjoyed the Jameson Whisky Blending Class The tour is supposed to be fun as well.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

The tour is supposed to be fun as well.

Emmett did the Jameson tour this summer and loved it.

Punishingly Intricate

The Jameson tour is fun but we thought Teeling was more interesting. And they are making the whiskey right there in Dublin (the only distillery that is).

Thanks for the suggestions! I'm not sure how much I'll actually accomplish with jet lag, but now I have options.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

I should have asked earlier, but because I'm there for work this year it slipped my mind as an actual fun event - anyone flying in for NYCC this weekend?

information libertarian

I am actually flying to NYC tonight but for the BTS concert at CitiField, not NYCC. I am pretty much totally booked as I am staying with family and then going to the concert and then sleeping and then leaving, but I will be thinking of my NYCistas!

Our wings are not tired

I have some friends at NYCC and one of my part time staff is there, but not for my company. Alas, I am not. I'll be in NYC very briefly next weekend. I arrive late on Friday and have an 8 PM flight home on Sunday. Unfortunately I don't think I'll have much in the way of free time while I am there. I'm coming in to do a quick site visit on the Trolls Experience near Times Square.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I will be in NOLA next weekend! Flying in on Friday the 26th and leaving Monday the 29th. I'd love to see folks if you have some time! I will have a couple of friends with me but they'll fit in with Buffistas.

Our wings are not tired.

We are going to a conference in DC 11/29-30, but will be free Friday evening, and all day Saturday December 1st. The 2nd we are popping up to see lisah and party hardy! It's my understanding Baltimore is having a parade in honor of our visit.

Let me know if any DCistas are around the 30th or 1st!
