Shit's all sorts of different now.

Locked and loaded, no less.

Deployment of the EJMC - 1 ("Punk" in the parlance) is a violation of several of the Geneva Conventions.

We're only allowed to have one for research purposes.

And what, exactly, are you researching? or is that something I really don't want to know?

I finally had time (yay! end of deadline) to go look at the tail-end of F2F4. I found one troubling snippet that I wanted to clarify...

Java cat "F2F 4: Too Much Candy, Never Enough Mojitos." Sep 22, 2008 7:53:20 pm PDT

WASHINGTON -- Port Townsend/Fort Worden (30 min. walk from downtown)

That 30 minute walk from downtown? Well, if the downtown they're referring to is actually Port Townsend, sure, I guess Fort Worden might be 30 minutes walk from there. However, it's easy to read that as 30 minutes walk from Seattle downtown (and a further comment comparing it to SF's Presidio district kind of suggests that what others might think).

The fact is that to get to Port Townsend from Seattle downtown is an hour-long ferry ride followed by a 45 minute+ car ride. An FYI to prevent shock & disappointment.

That's classified, ma'am.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

The traveling exhibit "Jim Henson's Fantastic World" will be at the Science Fiction Museum in Seattle May 23 - Aug 16, 2009.

Pretty sure the eating and/or wearing of muppet pelts at the exhibit is frowned upon.

I will say Port Townsend is really pretty - and somewhat hickey. If we are going to consider places like Olympia is also about two hours from Seattle (shorter or longer depending upon traffic and whether you drive insanely fast), very pretty and very hickey. Yeah, Seattle makes more sense in all sorts of ways.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I've been to Port Townsend--very pretty, lots of nice little shops, but not what I'd consider a big F2F destination for the entire weekend. I love the idea of being in Seattle proper and am already putting aside money that I hope can be used for the F2F, wherever it is!

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

(My stepfather was the mayor of Port Townsend a long time ago.)
