F2F5: I forget that everyone isn't us
Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon.
By "be run at the end" you do mean just for the party room, right?
Correct. Although the hospitality suite would be included if we don't meet the 40 room minimum for Fri/Sat. (Though, she said the minimum was for Thurs-Sat when I talked to her, so I'll see if we can re-stretch it back to include Thursday.)
And we'd REALLLLLLY be wanting people to not be booking things outside the room block until we knew we had those 40 nights Fri/Sat, right?
It would be included in the count, it just won't be near the rest of the people.
Gotcha. If a cc is needed I can provide, though it sounds like maybe you're covered.
I'm still looking at flights. I'm having a ton of trouble finding much of anything under $300. Just found one leaving from BWI, but it's kind of a pain to get there, and it's still more than I really think I should spend.
Not to derail the official F2F talk—the following's in reference to plans for a meet-up in San Francisco this Sunday.
Okay, how about the Monte Cristo at noon on Sunday? Does that work for people?
Sounds good to me, thanks!
JZ Works for me. If anyone's BARTing in, I could probably meet 'em at the station and walk over together.
I'll be BARTing in. It would be nice to meet you at the station, thanks.
Juliana, insent.
From the looks of the website it would be one of the Monte Carlo suites that Kristin and I would be booking, is that correct?
Yep, ND, it's a Monte Carlo. I think the rate was $50 higher than a King.
Didn't someone else say they'd take the other adjacent Monte Carlo?
Party gratuity 14%, party tax 7% PLUS WA state tax
If that's regular WA sales tax, it currently stands at 10%. That 31% total. Holy crap. Good job they did leave the minimum at $1500.
And I can be backup on the cc but I'll let Meara tackle it if she wants.
So, I can haz ticket! It arrived yesterday! I am both thrilled and guilty as hell about taking 4 days off work RIGHT before the School production, and dropping people in it. But there's quite a lot of thrilled going on.
So...weather. I'm going to need tights/socks and a coat, right?
I wouldn't think so. Of course, maybe compared to Thailand, it might be a little chilly:)
But socks and/or tights, yeah, if I'm wearing skirts? Bare legs will be too cold?
(I'm sorry, I know this sounds stupid, but I've lost all perspective on climate by this point, and it's always a shock to the system going home at Christmas and adjusting to proper shoes and socks and things. And I don't have any cardigans or jackets or anything, except one light velvet one that I'll bring along - but it will clash fiercely with some things. Um. So - are we talking t-shirt weather? Or overcoats weather?)
Er...hard to say, Fay. Likely it'll be...around 22-25C daytime, a little cooler at night? But it could be warmer. A similar weekend, last summer (Pride weekend) it was about 35C in the daytime, which was crazy. BUT, it's not humid, which makes it way nicer in the shade and if there's a breeze. So totally unlike Thailand. :)
