I went to New Orleans in the summer once for a cousin's wedding. I would not recommend it, particularly if you're going to be pushing a 200 lb. man in a wheelchair over French Quarter sidewalks. That Jazz Festival in the spring is much more my speed.
F2F5: I forget that everyone isn't us
Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon.
These things are all true. Other things to consider - you can easily spend a day or more in the WWII museum, if that's your thing. Umbrella is a must for shade or sun. Don't recommend touring St. Louis #1 cemetery in the summer - it's rumored to be the hottest place in the city and having worked there in summer I believe it. There will be fewer tourists; there's still generally a festival or two every weekend.
It's a whole 'nother level of hot and humid down here, and I'm a longtime Southerner. But if you do visit, there's me and Nora and maybe even Tom to hang out with!
The Aquarium's another good air-conditioned place.
I'm also looking at Denver possibilities. Or I may do a stay-cation and save up for an international trip later.
Considering what has happened to Big Sur since I vacationed there, NO may not want me.
DC-istas, I am in town June 20-28 for my annual workshop, which has moved to June. Free all day Sunday June 25 - I have still not been to the Renwick or the Building Museum, so those are top of my list.
flea! We are out of town right now but will be back in time to meet you at the Building Museum on Sunday - profile addy is good.
For the record, Kat is exactly as awesome to travel with as you might expect.
Unrelated to previous post, ND and I will be in New England at the end of July and early August. We are staying in Boston the last few days of the trip since he's never explored that city, and we'd love to meet up with any New Englanders willing and able to make the trek. I have a family thing August 6, but we have no real plans (aside from doing all the touristy things) Aug 7 or 8 if anyone wants to have dinner. I'll definitely make him do a duck tour and Quincy Market — maybe the museum of science? What else? Freedom Trail?
Yes, traveling with Pix is really the only way to travel! I'm not going to be anywhere else anytime soon, so I really have no business in this thread. Ha!

I'll be around! If you're in the Back Bay (for the Duck Tour maybe) and like weird things, may I recommend the Mapparium at the Christian Science center?
