NCistas: I just sent an email about the NC portion of Scolapalooza. YAY!!!
'A Hole in the World'
F2F5: I forget that everyone isn't us
Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon.
Awesome! I just booked flight RDU → CVG for Tuesday, March 28, arriving at 7:20pm.
I can totally get you from the airport. Have you been here before? I ask because there really is a fantastic view of the city as you come down I-75 from the airport. It's a dramatic reveal as you come around a curve in the highway, too. I feel like it's the city's way of making up for the fact that you actually fly into an airport that's way the hell down in Kentucky. (For all values of "way the hell down" that equal "actually just 20 minutes by car, but still").
it is hella expensive to fly out of CVG on a weekend
You could drop "on a weekend" off that sentence and still be correct. Grumble.
it looks like I'll be leaving some time on Thursday, 3/30.
I can also take you to the airport. The view is, however, less exciting going *to* the airport.
The last two times we've flown anywhere, we've driven to Indianapolis and Columbus, respectively, because it's worth it.
Dayton can be a good choice, too. Plus -- though this may have changed since the last time I flew out of Dayton -- long-term parking was the lot right next to the terminal. I parked my car and walked to the terminal in under 5 minutes.
DC/Bmore & environs, Scolapalooza celebrated here Friday March 24th! Will send email soon.
Tom, I forgot to ask if you're allergic to cats?
Not allergic to cats.
Tom, I've got a work deadline of March 31 and I may be going on a quick trip to Hawaii after it to reset myself. That's why I haven't spoken up on getting together for your SF portion. I just wanted to explain in case you thought I was ignoring you. I hope it works out to see you since I missed you the last time!
I'm looking forward to seeing you on the NC leg of your tour, Tom.
Really hope to see you if you hit LA! I don't think we can offer a place to crash this time; we have my mom for a bit and then I'm gone and then our friend Tina is coming to do some work for ND's company, so the guest room will be full for weeks. And honestly, even if you could slot into the few days between visits, my introvert self is going to need a few days without anyone else staying here. But can suggest many hotels in the area!
