I'm trying to book housing for my vacation and I'm up to San Francisco! I've been trying to search back through this thread for recs but I haven't found them yet. Any suggestions? Or does anyone know anything about the Villa Florence Hotel?
We stayed in a nice apartment through VRBO for $160/night, although now that I've read about Airbnb owners kicking out renters so they can focus exclusively on short-term rentals, I guess I can't really recommend it any more, because that is shady as hell.
Yeah, I may try that between SF and Portland but not in SF.

I guess the Airbnbs that are a room in someone's house are different, in that they're not keeping tenants from renting an apartment. But then I don't know how I'd feel about renting a room in someone's house. That seems weird.
I know of people who rent out their own home during tourist season, so not all situations are displacing renters. The big urban areas are the ones where I'm a little more wary of that.
Definitely.
