Hoo, I am also excited! Also, to be honest, kind of terrified, so I may be Quiet Xanax Girl, petting an animal in the corner, for a while. Honestly, if there's a better city and a better group of people with whom to be an utter nervous nutjob, I can't think of it.
And. ..50 cent oysters? Holy moly, Nora, you are a goddess. Who else wants to worship at the altar of seafood with me?

Yep! You might want to let someone know that you need alone time. As Laura's DH can tell you, during his first F2F, he stepped away to take a breather from the Buffista Juggernaut and when I went over to check on him, he was amused that at least three people (not including me) had come over to make sure that he was okay and not feeling left out.
I am also of the "may need to hide in a corner for a bit" group. I am always good to pet an animal.
There's always a corner of decompressing Buffistae at any gathering, often knitting or sewing or just face down in their computer. It's what we do.

As I recall, at the SF2F, I was in a hallway having a freakout, and you came up and hugged me first and then asked what was wrong, and I said "People keep getting in my personal space!!!!" That still makes me giggle.
The cats and possibly Frankie will be shut in my bedroom for the duration, so that can be a decompression spot. I want everyone to take care of themselves and have fun in their own way!
Bad news. I don't think I'm going to make it to NOLA this weekend. I'm just so swamped that I can't figure out how to make it work. Coming off of being sick is just compounding from both and energy and workload level.
Oh, bummer! But I can see it being the right decision for you.
I'm sorry you won't be there! But I understand being swamped.
