You can't go wrong with eating at either Commander's Palace or the Court of Two Sisters.

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon.
So are there any set plans yet for the September 19th weekend in New Orleans?
I am planning to come, but I haven't bought my plane ticket yet! So, my plan is to be there, that's it.
I need to get through my busiest weekend of the year at work (right now) and then I will have other thoughts.
I am leaning yes on the 23rd, too! I'll likely be taking the ferry over.

I agree on CP, CoTS has developed into somewhat of a tourist trap.
Here is a quick and dirty list, which I will likely expand upon in the future, because it's how I roll:
FQ:
Food:
Sylvain, Angeline, Brennan's, Galatoire's (if you want old school Creole done right) Killer Poboys at the Erin Rose, Meauxbar
Booze:
Carousel Bar at the Monteleone, French 75 Bar at Arnaud's, Black Penny, Bar Tonique
Both:
(though most of the food places listed above have great drinks) Latitude 29, Cane & Table
CBD/Warehouse District
Food:
Domenica, Compere Lapin, Cochon Butcher, Willa Mae, Balise
Booze:
Victory, Sazerac Bar, Loa
Garden District/LGD ish area:
Food:
Coquette, Achafalaya (for brunch) Commanders Palace, Mais Arepas, Emeril's Delmonico, Shaya, La Petite Grocery, Primitivo, Lily's
Booze:
Avenue Pub, Courtyard Brewery, Barrel Proof, NOLA Brewing
There's more stuff further Uptown and Mid City, and I know I've forgotten a bunch of stuff, but will add as I think of it.
I think there should be a 25 cent martini lunch at Commanders Palace (not available during the weekends).
Non food/drink stuff to do: City Park, NOMA, Ogden Museum, WWII Museum (warning: depressing), Audubon Park/Zoo, carriage ride (let me know if you want me to arrange something with my friend who does them), and, um, other stuff I am sure. Mardi Gras World?
It'll still be pretty brutally hot, so wandering around should be planned with plenty of indoor breaks and shade in mind.
Hi! I have not made any plans beyond "have party on Saturday," because that is how I roll. I will be off Friday - Sunday. I definitely encourage people to make their own plans because cruise director is not a thing I can do. That said, it would be cool to do a Buffista dinner, maybe Friday? Dana, I'm sure there will be opportunities for watching Saints. If nothing else, we can watch at my place or the corner bar.
Some things going on that weekend:
Burlesque festival [link] - House of Blues
Free Gospel Music festival - Carver theater
We Live to Eat (WLTE) Restaurant Week [link]
I don't get in until 8:30PM on September 18, so a Friday night dinner is out for me. I'm up for anything Saturday, including the party.
Is anyone interested in doing something like this escape room thing?
Looks like $28 a person, which I know may be pricey for some people.
Oooh very jealous of that Restaurant Week. Highly recommend Cafe Degas, btw.

Oh, right. High Holidays. I knew there was a reason I couldn't make that trip (besides general financial responsibility, of course)

There might be a Groupon for it. I get Groupon emails for escape room stuff a lot lately.
Yeah, I checked and didn't find anything with five minutes of searching, but something may pop up.
