I'm a vision of hotliness, and how weird is that? Mystical comas. You know, if you can stand the horror of a higher power hijacking your mind and body so that it can give birth to itself, I really recommend 'em.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Would any LAistas be interested in a trip to the Ren Faire on May 3rd?

Be sure to tacklehug all the mongers (the ragged disreputable people hanging around the front gate selling smelly fish and pig testicles and such) for me!

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

selling smelly fish and pig testicles

hmmmm... maybe I'll hug them on the way out

"I've got a gun! I've got a mother-flippin' gun!" - Moss, The IT Crowd

Cos the fish & testicles are 'to go', or they'll smell better after several more hours in the sun, or... what?

I think there is a flaw in your reasoning.

I was thinking maybe the mongers absorbed the smell of their wares... in which case you're right it's probably better to hug them early and let myself air out over the course of the day rather than getting a stinky hug right before I get back in the car.

Laga, insent. Sorry. Bad day(s) at work. I'm hoping thurs-monday. It might be thurs-sun. Depends on response from locals I'm visiting after.

Newbie f2f question. How do we chip in for the group stuff? Tallied @ end? More importantly, can it be put on visa? Just figuring out budgets and cash flow.

There was talk upthread about baseball. Is it too soon to start organizing that, or has that idea been passed over?

Ok, back to going mad at work and trying not to kill anyone.

I booked a flight! I get in Thursday afternoon and fly out Sunday night. Now I need a prom dress. Does a shopping trip to Melrose appeal to any other LAistas?

Not javachik

I had vague thoughts about wanting to drive up/down and camp and visit people along the way. They are no longer vague! Woo hoo! I am spending some time in Portland with a friend, and then we are traveling together to Mendocino over a couple of days, and I'll fill in with other friends up/down, too. Fun! I'll probably make it a straight shot Seattle from Portland, if case anyone wants a ride up, tho' I'm going to Pt. Townsend and possibly Lummi and San Juan Islands afterwards, so a ride down (unless later in the week) would not work.

So I have a Q about the parking fee. The thought of paying $40/night to park my car makes me crazy. Is there an equivalent to, say, leaving my car at Cofax's house, and taking BART to the hotel, then staying there?

meara - Apr 17, 2009 5:56:15 pm PDT #1079 of 12685

Heck yeah, Java. Public transport in Seattle is quite nice. I'm sure we can figure out something like that. When are you planning (roughly) to arrive/leave?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

As soon as the hotel is booked, I'll give TCG all the info, and we can decide if we are going to be able to go or not. We're definitely leaning toward going at this point. I need to fix the fact that I have never been to a F2F.
