And a raise!
I has a medal already, from the first F2F!
We also got a letter from the university president that there is a moratorium on raises and job re classifications because of the economy!
This is just too cool. What science headline could top "Black holes cure cancer"? Well, nothing, really. But "Nanotechnology cures cancer" comes pretty close. [link]
My brother is in cancer research!
Every so often, I have to say, out loud "President Barack Hussein Obama." Or just "President Obama." And then I grin like an idiot and start to tear up. I want to shout it out my window when driving.
It's kinda cool.
I just assumed that the drop today on Wall Street was related to Obama's election. I happen to think they are wrong about Democrats being bad for the economy, but I know a lot of folks cling to that belief.
On the money show on NPR, they pointed out that the Street had weeks to anticipate an Obama win, and it looked likely, so any variation was probably its own psychosis. Of course, it was NPR, that bastard liberal source.
It's amazing the effect of a Democratic presidency. According to the wingnuts Clinton caused all the problems of Bush's first four years, and now Obama will be causing all the problems of Bush's last three months.
It's a wonder that Bush got anything done at all, really.
for all of you who have never forgiven Nader for 2000....The snippet in which he calls Obama an Uncle Tom. "
I loathed Ralph Nader long before 2000, but that's the closest I've come to wanting to run over an old guy with a Pinto.
I am sorry that Uncle Tom has acquired such negative connotations, because he was a hero in the book. It's hardly giving in to the man to die rather than betray someone else.
