A Boeing 787 Dreamliner would work pretty well.
Screw that. Starfleet Shuttlecraft.

I don't know much about Rahm is this a yay?
Dollars to doughnuts Sorkin thinks it is. To go all fannish, reality just totally Kripked him.
If nothing else, Rahm Emanuel means things are gonna get done.
When I was watching the Grant Park festivities on Tuesday night, I thought that this will help Chicago's bid for the Olympics in 2016, and I read yesterday in the Tribune that I wasn't the only one thinking that. If Obama wants to, he can definitely add cache and a lot of pow-factor to the bid, as did other heads of state.
but I don't see Michelle calling everybody to the table at six every night, you know?
Really, I totally see her doing this. I've heard that keeping the family together is super important to her and that she exacted some promises to that effect from her husband before he ran. Not that stuff won't get in the way, but I actually do kind of see her calling him at 5:55 and telling him he has 5 minutes to finish whatever.
Yeah, I would imagine there are many days when stopping work for a half hour in the evening is just fine, even for the President. Especially when you work from home!

He knows Washington, he's a talented Congress-wrangler, he's also a partisan pick. I just read an article over at cqpolitics arguing he isn't Change-y enough. I tend to disagree. I think there are gains to be made in looking like a magnanimous winner, but this is after all a Democratic administration, and most importantly, Obama will be working with a Democratic Congress. You want someone in the CoS role, I would think, who has a proven track record with said Congress.
He came out of the Clinton administration, too, so it's kind of interesting in terms of those politics, too. AND a Chicago guy, AND a congressman, as well as being the enforcer. Seems like a good plan to me.
Oh, and by the way,
YAY, NORTH CAROLINA!!!
Especially when you work from home!
Hee - good point.
So, my the Sun just responded to my complaint about them running old Doonesbury strips with this:
Sorry for the inconvenience. Doonesbury will be back tomorrow. We chose not to run the strip earlier this week to be fair in the days preceding Election Day. It should have returned Wednesday... My apologies.
What does that mean "to be fair in the days preceding Election Day" ??? They already run it on the Editorial page.
