I'm beginning to suspect that this low-level cold I've had for the past couple of weeks is not a cold, but it's from mold in my apartment after it flooded in August. Crap. I have no idea what to do about this.

Trust my rage

Tom, I had a minor freakout about mold a few months ago. Can you see the mold or do you know where it might be? I think you can get it tested but it looked fairly expensive. Maybe since you have an apartment, though, your landlord would have to foot the bill?

My apartment is a co-op. I'm responsible for any expenses.

Tom, here's a resource site for mold in your home (how to determine if you have it, how to clean it up)

That is not so easy, then. Do you feel better during the day? I noticed that I was getting my symptoms in the morning (after sleeping with the AC all night) and on the weekends. In our case, there are almost no ducts or vents in our house. The only exception was the air conditioner and we got a new one. And we took down all the drapes (because they can have dust mites) and got an exterminator (because according to the doctor, cockroaches are a big source of allergies in the home and we definitely have those here).

I know none of that really addresses the toxic mold stuff, but I had trouble finding solid info. Much of what I looked at was very fishy looking (as in, not legit but taking advantage of peoples' fears).

Art Crawl!!!

Sorry about that change.gov link.

I'm not going to bother changing it since it's still nonexistent.

Am enjoying the Obama puppy news.

Also, more Sarah Palin news. . . on Fox.

brillig

Mold is no small problem. Hubby's and my first apartment had mold behind contact paper that had been used for wallpaper, and it nearly killed me.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Owen tried the same thing with Crayolas with considerably less success.

made me laugh and laugh

What did not make me laugh this morning was posting on the adoption group list I am on. First a string of posts - "YAY a brown president, my kids can see what is possible in this country and see leadership that looks like them"....then..."how can you have your kids look to this man as anything good when he supports the genocide of thousands of unborn babies....Our lord and saviour says..." oy vey! The discussion has been stopped because politics and religion unrelated to the adoption of our kids is against list rules, but I think I am going to have to go post that I was horrified at the posts and would prefer to NOT know the other posters politics or religious beliefs - find another board for that.
