Good morning, New World Order. And Happy Birthday, CaBil!
CA-istas, I'm so sorry about Prop 8-- cold comfort that it was at least far closer than Prop 2 was in Florida.
Love this picture of the White House. It really does look like the storming of the Bastille.

gives billytea a scrapple high-five::
The messiest high five ever!
No, wait. That would be the Philly cheesesteak high five.
The fight ain't over. My heart goes out to all whose marriages, who friends' and families' marriages are affected materially by this setback.
So true. The forces of intolerances are pulling all this crap because they know they're losing ground. They should still be losing it faster.
On this note, reversing Prop 8: it's no more onerous than passing it in the first place, right? A straight plurality in a referendum? (I know it may take a while, but I'm sure demographics are on the right side in this struggle.)
I went to bed last night and had technical problems but right now I'm listening to Obama's speech.
I can finally say again (or at least in 77 days), that I respect not only the office of the President but also the President himself. I can say that I respect the adminstration.
I can listen to a President speak because he's intelligent and doesn't look like he's a stoned frog. (seriously all I can see when I see Bush is a stoned frog).
Thank you, Buffistas, for a highly entertaining as-it-happened Election Night commentary. Nearly 600 posts, and I read 'em all.
The world is looking rather brighter from this Un-American location this morning, and not just because the sun is shining and the sky is blue.
I can listen to a President speak because he's intelligent and doesn't look like he's a stoned frog.
Okay, pass over the paper towels. I just snorted coffee everywhere.
Checking Missouri exit polls. Interesting point: Obama did better among women, McCain won the men; but Obama scored equally among white men and women. The difference between the sexes opened up between black men and women (90% vs 96%).
Curious whether Missouri will remain a bellwether state in subsequent elections - I'm assuming it'll be called for McCain, his lead's only 6,000, but all precincts are in. It's been around the mid-point on so many indicators, but the racial composition is an exception. Does that make this election just an outlier in Missouri bellwether history, or is it joining Kentucky and Tennessee in drifting right? (Or is it getting left behind as the country drifts left?)

I count you among the lucky ones. I would seriously love to see a stoned frog whenever I look at Bush.
I can happily claim to be born a Hoosier again. Indiana going Democrat gave me a big happy.
Prop 8 sucks and made me sad.
I need to find coffee and check senate results.
Oh, and in some serious 'what the hell?' news, Ted Stevens is currently looking good to retain his seat! Did they not notice the seven guilty verdicts?
Stevens says he hasn't been convicted of anything. Maybe they believed him.
It's just crazy.
