Wesley: All right. I'm going to let you all in on something you may have trouble comprehending. I assure you however-- Gunn: Vampires are real. Wesley: I was telling!

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

It's so nice to be filled with hope, rather than rage. I don't know if I recognize myself anymore.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

That speech was great. For once, a President who's talking to everybody, not just the "We're going to use this mandate" of W.

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

You know what is so strange. I live in a red state. But he made me feel like my vote counted today. President Elect Barack Obama. That sounds really good.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I am so thankful for the opportunity to listen to a speech by a leader who can make me tear up with joy and hope instead of cringing in dread or seething in contempt.

Yes. Yes. A million times, yes.

I am a language girl. Hyperbole, sweeping generalizations, symbolism, timing, pacing....yeah, I know it.

I don't CARE. I do NOT care. I wept, I clasped my hands, I said amen. I felt hope instead of defeat.

Compassionately intolerant

My jaded heart has broken...open.

I can't help but sob and sob with the realization that the thing I've struggled for my entire adult life may have actually come to pass.

I find it almost impossible to believe that there is a chance I can now be the one thing denied me over and over.

I can be proud to be an American.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

What an incredible speech. I broke down crying around the time he talked about people listening huddled around radios in forgotten corners of the world. I see in him a president who respects and understands the role that America plays in the world, not as the bully we have too often been, but truly as the beacon we can be.

President-Elect Obama, thank you for making me feel, almost for the first time in my adult life, proud to be an American.

“Not dead yet!”

And Mama Biden. Love her too.

I totally love Mama Biden!

Barb, I took Hil's link to mean a kind of countdown until Bush is officially out.

Ah, okay. Like I said, way, way exhausted. I think maybe the red font hit me as being kind of threatening.

I like Michelle's dress more now that I know it's sleveless and she's wearing something over it.

That's what I thought it was, too. I'm wondering whether, on inauguration day, it'll do anything with graphics or something, or just switch the text to "Yes."
