Chris Matthews just said that Palin scared "the bejeezus" out of pro-choice PA women.
The NYT thing is useless - they're still showing McCain up 8 to 3 in the electoral college....
I dunno. If it turns into a total blowout for Obama, then I think he would have won without the financial collapse.
I think he still would've won; I reckon his jump in the polls was due to both the financial collapse and his steady debate performance (i.e. the electorate already liked him better, but they needed to trust him too). But it would've been closer, certainly; maybe another single-state margin, like the last two.
Favorite quote so far from MSNBC.
"You can see it geographically in Pennsylvania in counties like Montogomery County a highly educated county where Sarah Palin just didn't work. Sarah Palin scared the bejesus of a lot of pro-choice women in that state—is that all right to say 'the bejesus'?"
ETA-- heh-- x-post with Dana!

Only during elections. "For one night only - the bejesus!"
That's probably the actual numbers - Cuyahoga County has reported (Cleveland) and almost no other counties.
CBS has given Oklahoma to McCain. Gutsy move.
I don't think you can underestimate the effect Palin had for Obama. McCain picking her really pushed some people to Obama.
