There's apparently a local/regional shortage; it's bad in Atlanta, too, which is why we wanted to fill up before leaving.

It's doubly funny because the RVs are rolling into town for the big football game tomorrow night (vs. Alabama, ESPN is on campus all day) and I am sure they all get, like, 4 mpg.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So, we're driving to Atlanta (70 miles) tomorrow, and all 5 gas stations we've seen today have no gas.

Woah.

Oil refineries shutting down for Ike, took 2 weeks to get back online. And they are saying it's been exacerbated by panic fill-ups. A gas honcho told the governor he should cancel the Bama game. Like that would ever happen! [link]

I've got a 4th grade teacher reading sam to her class next week. Ultimate beta.

Too cool!

I almost forgot about the debate. Are all channels carrying it?

Yes, it's on all the channels.

I'm going out to my neighborhood bar to watch it, though. I don't think I can handle it sober.

Civic duty, informed citizen, etc.

Plus, given McCain's erratic behavior lately, the small possibility of an epic meltdown.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I had a very bad thought (and a 30-day photoshop trial to use before time ran out).

Kinda terrifying, actually.
