Uh, are we gonna fight, or is there just gonna be a monster sarcasm rally?

McCain has issued a statement of condolence, so at least the most basic of social standards are being observed.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Actually Vermont does have a Wal Mart, but I don't think there are very many.

I believe there are two in the whole state. Or, at least that was the stat when I was teaching at Bennington. Bennington being one of the towns that caved.

ETA: There are apparently only 4 Starbucks: 3 in Burlington, and 1 in nearby Williston, aka the home of the other Wal-Mart.

Montpelier is the only state capital that doesn't have a McDonald's. McDonald's *tried* to get in there, but Montpelier told them to fuck off. In more polite, political terms.

McCain has issued a statement of condolence

Does that count for Palin, too? Because at this point, I'm expecting her to say vile things and for McCain to actually have to lock her in a closet for all of tomorrow.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Montpelier is the only state capital that doesn't have a McDonald's. McDonald's *tried* to get in there, but Montpelier told them to fuck off.

I'm sorry, that's just wrong.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I'm so sad to hear about Obama's grandmother. I bet she tried to hang on for as long as she possibly could -- I'm actually just a little teary about it.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

My first thought was the same as yours, followed closely by "That can only help him."

This is me. Because it's not like someone (not Mc, not the party officially, but someone) won't sling shit, but it hasn't exactly been a great help to them. (Witness: Dole. Plumber-comma-the. Palin's approval ratings.)

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

oh - forgot to say earlier - The Plumber was in my office building earlier today. Happily I did not see him, but I missed him in the lobby by only seconds.

“Not dead yet!”

and for McCain to actually have to lock her in a closet for all of tomorrow.

Only for tomorrow? Damn.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Everybody! Quick, go outside! Look at the sky! See that bright point of light next to the Moon? It's Jupiter!

OK, you don't have to run out this moment - it'll be there for a while. And at the end of the month, Venus is gonna go hang out with Jupiter....

information libertarian

I'm actually just a little teary about it.

Dude, I'm genuinely weepy. If the man wins tomorrow before I get off at 10pm, I fully expect to be sobbing at work.

Query to self: when did you become the kind of sap who cries at political campaigns?

Aww, I'm kinda touched by some of the entries in the Phoenix Mission twitter epitaph contest:
