Mal: Cut it out. Job's not done until we're back on Serenity. Zoe: Sorry, sir. Didn't mean to enjoy the moment.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Yeah, I'd heard of Frodo the chimp before he was all, "I'm not going to share my wild pig."

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Oh that sounds ages better than my college Victorian literature class where we mostly read terrible and terribly dry political political and religious treatises.

I wanna read Shir's Victorian Lit paper!

Umm, this isn't literature course. This is Material Culture and English Soc. In The 19th Cent. class. Such a beam of light, I tell you.

Also, in "I have some great lecturers!" news: my prof. for Europe In The Early Modern Era explaining to some more challenged fellow students why he teaches women and slaves' history along with the Formal White Dead Men history: "Every king had a mother, and for that fact only it's important to know how they lived then".

I thought the Tudors reproduced asexually.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

OMG: Amazon is introducing frustration-free packaging.

Embrace the chaos. Go for Europe in the Post Modern Eye.

“Not dead yet!”

Well, this just made my Monday complete. Got my official termination letter from the publisher this afternoon, in quadruplicate.

I love how they took nearly THREE FUCKING MONTHS to let me know they ultimately didn't want to publish the book, oh, and by the way, we'll be wanting our money back if you sell it elsewhere, and yet managed to send the "You and your book suck DEAD MOOSE COCK and oh, by the way, we'll be wanting our money back if you sell it elsewhere" letter in only two weeks.

Fuck.

Oh yeah, yay Allyson!

Every month or so, I get annoyed because my pants won't stay up very well, and then I realize I've lost more weight and must tighten my belt another notch. That happened today - there's only one more hole left in this belt!

Did I mention that my knee just magically stopped hurting? When I realized this, I also notice that this mass of scar tissue on my knee (that's been there since my accident in '91) was suddenly gone too. Weird. Anyway, I've gone back to doing lots of walking, so I think that's mostly the reason I'm losing weight.
