Heard a Dar William's song whose opening had a bit too much resonance:

I know change is a bad thing,
it breaks me down into a sorry sad thing,
not some iridescent grateful butterfly.

I resist with defiance,
not the power of a mystic silence.
I will fight the dizzy spiral of goodbye.

And it's alright, it's alright, it's alright.
It's alright, it's alright, it's alright.
later:

It's a sad and a strange thing, but it's time and I am changing
into something good or bad, well that's your guess.
I'm my own sovereign nation, dedicated to a transformation,
marching on with this target on my chest.

It becomes relationshippy, though if you subtract that out, I still Get It Too Well. [link]

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

I finally got around to picking out and posting a few of my pictures from this summer's trip to Yellowstone: [link]

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

We haven't had family photos taken since...well...ever.

Christmas gifts for the family!

We are in high election angst here at Chez Burrell. But at least I now know we're in good company.

Sometimes performance reports are amusing:

Yakov Smirnoff was in the House.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Had a real scare. I'm in Washington State. My brother is in the hospital in Charlottesville VA (unrelated to his previous hospitalization). He called me a few minutes ago on his cell phone asking telling me an earthquake destroyed the hospital, that he was alone in the dark and to please get him some help. (He told me he was hanging up to preserve the battery.)

My first thought was to call the Charolttesville police, and found out there had been no earthquake or explosion. I called back on his hospital room phone, got a nurse who was there reassuring him that he was fine, the hospital was fine, he had just had a really bad nightmare. Even with the nurse right there he asked me if I was sure there was no earthquake. From past Buffista conversations, I gather that some really strong pain meds can have paranoia as a side effect.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Cool, real life Simpson opener.

Typo, that is scary. I hope he's ok.

Christmas gifts for the family!

That's the plan this year, I think.

I'm going to be heading for a post-election crash, no matter what the results of the election are, I fear.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I'm going to work and it's not dark outside. Yay!
