brillig

I have committed early voting. Barack Obama gets at least one vote from conservative Provo, Utah. Here's to many more.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I am bummed out about Studs Terkel.

Also bummed out that I fucked up my nail polish immediately after leaving the nail place, but not at all bummed out about the trick or treaters who came into the nail place while I was there!

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Ha--the Colbert Nation homepage has a video up called "The Music Man," a montage of clips of Colbert singing (and playing sax with Kareem Abdul-Jabar) on his show. Very fun!!

There's also the clip of last night's "The DaColbert Code" bit which had me cracking up.

In random news, I'm watching Ellen from earlier in the week, and there's a whole slew of Vegas showgirls on, and damn if they don't have the most perfect bodies. Not too skinny, not all hardbodied, just perfect.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Owen and Olivia had a very successful Trick or Treat experience. He impressed a woman in a cool witch hat by reading her Barack Obama yard sign. She gave him extra candy.

My treat passing out is done for the evening. I had about 50 people, who were mostly either under 7 or over 12. Seriously, there are a lot of teenagers who want free candy. One little kid who was 6 or 7 was an old man and was totally awesome.

Dancer!Nicole was a vegas showgirl. That was one of her Professional Dancer aspirations along with Rockette and Broadway Show (all of which she did).

Those seem like pretty practical professional dancer aspirations! I mean, there's a ton of work, compared to almost any other kind of dancing.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Ooooh! As I write this, wedding pictures from bon bon are going up on her flickr page!

Oooh!

They are reading The Raven on my radio. I love this halloween tradition.

I saw a rattletrap old green pickup on the road today. Around here you see a lot of these who hire out for rubbish hauling. They often inspire fear with their tottering makeshift bedwalls and precarious piles. What was notable was that the plywood walls encompassing the bed were painted amateurishly with US flags and read "JUST VOTE" and on the tailgate "VOTE 11-04-08!" "TUESDAY" It was just charming to see. An everyday citizen compelled to spread the message.
