The administrator told me that I could not have them because she wasn't sure if they belonged to anyone and she didn't want anyone to get upset with her for letting me have them, but said if anyone was throwing them out, she would tell me.
Dude! You never ask if you can have the vintage toothpicks. You steal them. Because dumbfuck administrators will give you dumbfuck reasons just like that. "Somebody somewhere might yell at me!"
Petty Theft is the way of the cultural archivist.
Your work nemesis and dept. admin are super dumbfuck dipshit rage generators. I stab them both in the neck with a spork.
::spork! spork! spork!::
And I just got so enraged out of all proportion because it just exemplifies the two people who are sort of equal/sort of a little higher... one completely careless of anyone else's needs and one so scared to make any sort of decision in case someone is mad at her! It is so frustrating.
Oh, that is enragening! Effers.
I had a slightly awesome response to my ragetastic work stuff -- I've been kind of thinking I should be able to figure out a way to work around the effers, but finally kicked it upstairs, and now everyone above me is also filled with rage! So it really is them, not me, is the good news.
Wait - not only did this person throw out an awesome toothpick box, but she threw out food? Perfectly good food? Asshat.
condiments, tea bags, cocoa, flavored coffees
I would totally submit a reimbursement form to the University for that, just to stir shit up. She's begging for a defenestration, that one.

Maybe these will be fun, Sophia.
The recipe I usually make says "Serves 3 to 4 (about 8 3-inch pancakes)" and I get 3.5 sensibly sized pancakes out of it. And by sensible I mean about 6" diameter. I don't get the disparity between the recipe and my breakfast.
The disparity is that they are craxy. Eight 3-inch pancakes serves
two.
Max. And not two hungry people. Two people who already ate the platter of bacon and the grapefruit.
A fun photo collection of Obama and Biden, with a few Hillary photos at the end. Love the pic of the two of them sharing a pretzel!
I think I might remember that show. I remember a show about waitresses with Ann Jillian, but that may have been pre-Fox.
That was It's A Living. I think that was direct-to-syndication. Aha, it was on ABC at first, and then syndicated for ages after the network dropped it.
I preferred Ann Jillian in Jennifer Slept Here, because the theme song is STILL IN MY HEAD.
Yes-- she threw out food! Well, salt and pepper, and ketchup, and tea bags-- that sort of stuff. None of it was "mine" it was shared stuff! She also put all the extra mugs in my office while I was out but those were guest mugs!
I KNEW I should have taken those toothpicks! I have had my eye on them for 3 years!
But thank you guys for the validation, because I just went all Hulk Smash and felt a little crazy! Related question-- does anyone else have their lips go numb when they are repressing anger? I tried googling and all I got was PTSD, which I am fairly certain the toothpick anger did not cause for me.
