As a nation we consume too much. We need to shift our economy and I really hope that we can make that shift without things getting too dire in the next couple of years.

I wish MY spending fell. 2008 was the Year of The Blown Budget. Little of it was within my control: sick cats, breaking stuff. I don't even want to wonder whether I even managed to break even, rather than my usual saving.
