I just made a bunch of calls for MoveOn, at some "calling party." I turned out to be stuck in the middle of the age range for political activism -- half the people there were 20s, the other half were late-middle age. Ah well.

I learned the other day that it was Roosevelt who changed over Thanksgiving to the fourth Thursday of November, rather than the last Thursday; apparently to extend the Christmas shopping season in a bid to help the retail economy. It led to the following ditty:
