It wouldn't surprise me. In real life, when people start spouting the crazy most other people back away and they end up ranting to themselves. But with the layers of distance provided by letters to the editor or the internet, they can be heard and even have people attempt to engage them in conversation.

Gas here is just hitting $2.67 and that's at the new station that's trying to woo us away from the competition. It's still $3.49 down on the reservation, twenty minutes away, which is what I mean when I talk about institutional racism.
