I think what my daughter's trying to say is: nyah nyah nyah nyah.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

And pretty much anything from Statler and Waldorf.

I was snide even as a 7-year-old, so my favorite bits were Statler and Waldorf.

And I'll tell you something about me and TV as a kid: I *know* I watched the Muppet Show, every Sunday at 7:00, but I can't remember anything specific from it. At all. Y'all keep naming these bits, and they sound vaguely familiar, but not enough for me to really remember them.

Same thing with Gilligan's Island and the Brady Bunch -- I watched them after school every single day for, like, 8 years or more. And I can't remember anything except the Gilligan's Island "To Be or Not to Be" song and the Brady Bunch episode where the vase gets broken and they glue it back together and then spend dinner freaking out that it will shatter. Oh! And the Brady Bunch where they get a pay phone because someone (one of the girls, I assume) was spending too much time on the phone.

That's it. Eight years and that's all I remember. I think when I started watching Buffy, it recorded over all the Muppets/Gilligans Island/Brady Bunch in the TiVO of my brain.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

That's why there's YouTube.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Saturday nights in the mid-70s were all CBS for us, from The Muppet Show at 6:30, through Bob Newhart Show, Mary Tyler Moore, and whatever other two sitcoms were on at the time, and then finishing with Carol Burnett at 9:00. I remember a lot of those four shows in particular, mostly because of the happy memories of the whole family gathered around watching together.

Ha! I've marked ALL the Muppet posts so that I can watch tonight!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I've marked ALL the Muppet posts so that I can watch tonight!

Then report back to us on which ones you remember.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Several of my friends have acquired DVD sets of that show. I should politely inquire as to whether they would like to share....

Just call me "Siouxsie Shunshine".

Everyone keeps mentioning my favorite Muppet skits; however, Jilli added my 2 favorite of all. The Alice Cooper skit is classic!
