Paul Simon singing "It's Been a Long, Long Day."
Oh, and the John Denver Muppet Christmas special.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Paul Simon singing "It's Been a Long, Long Day."
Oh, and the John Denver Muppet Christmas special.
Oh, and "For What It's Worth," sung by the woodland creatures hiding from the hunters. "You'd better stop, hey, what's that sound, everybody look what's goin' down..."
Me too!!
Also, John Denver doing "Inch by Inch, Row by Row".
The lobster banditos rescuing their fellow lobster from the Swedish Chef.
And pretty much anything from Statler and Waldorf.
Beverly Sills singing country music because they thought she was the "Queen of the West."
Everyone drooling over Raquel Welch.
And, yes, the John Denver Christmas special, with Piggy going nuts for him and gnawing on him and John trying to say, "Piggy, I'm a married man!" with a straight face.
Joe's favorite is from the new Muppet Show with Garth Brooks singing "If I Were a Rich Man" and kicking the chickens.
And don't forget the man who was born to play with the Muppets!
Can't watch Big Bird. Will cry.
Yeah, same here.
My favorite Muppet show sketch is probably Alice Cooper trying to convince Gonzo to sell his soul for fame and fortune. Or the sketch where Vincent Price and Kermit are talking, and Kermit develops fangs.
My favorite non-guest-star sketch that wasn't a recurring bit (like the Swedish Chef or Animal Hospital--"The continuing stoooory of a quack who has gone to the dogs") was the Muppetphones, with the guy who would line up these fluffball Muppets in a row by the tone of their "OW!" after he bonked them on the head with a hammer. They then sang/"ow"ed/played "Lady of Spain."
Very funny, and something I doubt would ever appear on children's TV today.
