Right. Piano. Because that's what we used to kill that big demon that one time. No, wait. That was a rocket launcher.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

People Magazine: Do you think you're intellectual?

Sarah Palin: Yehhh-sss.

Those darn gotcha journalists and their trick questions.

My eyes aren't bulging over the amount but I'm laughing at the irony of this picture: [link]

Ha! As long as the RNC is buying the wardrobe I don't really care. It sounds like the state of Alaska has some questions about travel expenses though.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I saw a breakdown - almost all of it is for Palin.

Ouch. Of course, I think Cindy McCain spent that much on ONE OUTFIT for the GOP Convention. They have a different perspective, I'm pretty sure.

I also think it's funny that the RNC is trying to spin it by saying she's going to donate the clothes to charity after the election. Ha!

Thing is, too-- they're idiots. The real trick is in accessories. They really could have made her look every bit as good shopping at Ann Taylor loft or even Target (they were in Minneapolis, for God's sake!), with some basic pieces, and then picking up some really nice, high end accessories and a few really good pairs of shoes, a good Raymond Weil or Movado watch, and choose a signature piece of jewelry and she'd have been set.

Just call me "Siouxsie Shunshine".

Mind you, I could do some serious damage at Needless Markup, mostly in shoes, but I'm not trying to appeal to Middle America.

Bring me with you, Barb!

IomemeN: DD stopped by my room today and asked for a recent copy of my resume or vita. When I looked at him weird he realized he hadn't explained himself (such a shock, I know) he told me the school is trying to add Dual Enrollment Humanities back into the curriculum. Last year I asked to have Humanities added back into the curruculum for this year and they acted like I was speaking a foreign language.

He wants to see my resume so "assess" my qualifications to instruct the class. I told him I wanted to teach the class this year and it would be a much better use of my time and talents than 'Intensive English 3'.

If I could get some ~ma that this would happen it would be greatly appreciated. While it wouldn't solve the issues at the school, it would make things slightly more tolerable. (and would give me a small in at the community college)

Actually, Cindy's infamous outfit (I called it her Wrath of McKhan outfit) topped out at $300K, but I think that was including the jewelry.

ETA-- yep. Three carat earrings est. at 280K and DAMN, but that outfit is completely awful on her.

Coding and Sleeping

I wish I could take a picture of the bird flock that just flew over my building. Countless, filled the sky when they went over.

Heh--whenever we get around to an Orlando F2F, we'll definitely have to pop by the NM Outlet off I-4. I am the queen of the sales rack.

What? Y'all didn't think I actually paid retail did you?

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I saw this coat the other day, and I like it, but I would never ever ever shop at Abercrombie or show off their logo. Can y'all help me find something similar?

Barb, Thank you! I posted a post in Beep Me, but thank you so very much for the books. It's amazingly generous of you.

Mind you, not probably means making the call from home, where I inevitably feel less secure and teacherly.

* 67 is your friend.

I call home specifically when I know the parents won't be there. Box is checked off and I don't have to talk! My ish is I hate stumbling through a convo half in spanish, half not.
