Joyce: You don't think it's too obvious? I think I look like I have a cat on my head. Buffy: But a very well groomed cat. Joyce: Well that's a comfort.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I'm hoping for more $ for public transit. Chicago has about the highest rates for mass transit in the country, and they're pro'lly gonna raise rates at the end of the year. All because our lame-ass governor insisted that everyone over 65 gets to ride for free, while failing to provide the promised $ for this.

You and me both! It's even worse out here in the 'burbs. If I didn't have a car, there'd be no way for me to get around, because the PACE buses are rarer than diamonds in Wheeling. There's a reason my apartment complex's parking lot is filled with taxicabs--that's the only way people without cars can commute out here, so the drivers are busy.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Quote o' the day?

People Magazine: Do you think you're intellectual?

Sarah Palin: Yehhh-sss.

Or is this the quote o' the day?

"McCain feels with his heart, but he thinks with his base. And when he picked Sarah Palin, he told the United States of America to go fuck itself," - Leon Wieseltier, TNR.

“Not dead yet!”

Stoners, man...

Nah, she's strictly a dilettante. The real stoners of my acquaintance would never leave their stash unattended. :-P

What if they were, like, really stoned, man?

“Not dead yet!”

A guy I knew in college would have his bag safety pinned to his pants.

No lie.

Always Anti-fascist!

You say that word a lot. I don't think it means what you think it means. And I think I can hear KO screaming from here. Don't mess up your throat, big guy. You don't have Rachel to lean on. Underdog, McCain? Like Pepsi is a mom &pop cola outfit. I believe he had one squeaker in the early eighties. Since then, he ran *unopposed* either once or twice. (I know because I voted Libertarian in protest.) Some teacher named Stuart who probably debated sticking me on his Christmas card list.)

Wench!

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Hey, Perkins - how was your weekend?

Wench!

Well, it's not like she's wrong.

It's not even the election yet, and a Republican is paying the price for claiming Obama is "unpatriotic."

GOP Pulling Its Ads From Bachmann's Race, Media Buyers Say

Five days after Rep. Michele Bachmann went on a McCarthy-esque rant suggesting Barack Obama was unpatriotic and urging the major newspapers of the country to investigate anti-American sentiment in Congress, the national Republican political parties are running for cover.

Two sources aware of ad buys in Minnesota say that the National Republican Congressional Committee is pulling its media purchases from Bachmann's race. If true, it is a remarkable fall for a congresswoman who, until recently, seemed relatively safe in her predominantly conservative district. The race had become closer in recent days -- sources say the NRCC had transferred funds from Rep. Erik Paulsen (MN-03) to Bachmann a little over a week ago.

In the days following her appearance on Hardball, however, Bachmann has watched as her challenger, El Tinklenberg raised more than a million dollars off her incendiary remarks. That surge in fundraising put Bachmann's re-election in a far less certain position. Bachmann tried to stem the bleeding by telling the press she was sorry for her remakrs. But with the national party now apparently pulling the plug, the situation has gone from bad to worse.

If enough Republicans suffer and/or lose after asserting Democrats are unpatriotic, maybe they'll learn to, um, not to do it so much....

Also, I first read this: "If true, it is a remarkable fall for a congresswoman" as "a remarkable fail"...
