Yes, it's terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and, uh, we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after.

“Not dead yet!”

And my post should have said, "You *could* get on IM. I wasn't ordering you. That sounded snooty and icky.

Silly Empress, I knew what you meant.

Actually, I'm getting the creative juices going by making a new playlist. I all of a sudden got hit with inspiration to use slightly retro music for a modern story. It's kind of turning out to be emo, circa 1989. I'm not so sure this is a good thing, although perhaps I can channel the post-adolescent angst into some good emotion for the story.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

And she was like, "This is why I can't read books like that. I can't tell you how many pounds of meat we go through in a week!"

Seriously. I was babysitting for them once, and she put an enormous roast in the crock pot when they got home at midnight or something, so it would be done for the next day's lunch.

Lisah, how long are you going to be in town? Maybe we can have a Chicagoista get-together?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Ooh, that gives me an excuse to post some baby picspam!

Dylan had oatmeal this morning too.

Lisah, how long are you going to be in town? Maybe we can have a Chicagoista get-together?

I'm here through Sunday. I'm doing an online training class all day tomorrow and Friday so it didn't matter where I was working so it seemed like a good plan to come out here and work and be able to stay for more than a weekend and not use precious vacation days. Long-distance relationships are very logistically complicated evidently.

I'm not sure what all our plans are but maybe we could meet for drinks or something Saturday? I think we're still pretty unplanned up that day and I'd love to meet whoever!

eta if you want to email me at my profile address and we'll try to work it out!

Tommy, I think you should have gone out with your girlfriend and given her Strep.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Shit. Another crash. I'm waiting for the press to publish the name of the flight instructor.

Does anyone have experience getting things bound at Kinkos? We have a publication that's like 75 pages, and the estimate was 40 bucks a piece, which seems insane to me, but I've never done this before. Anyone?

I remember that Office Depot does binding, at least my local one, is there one around to get an estimate from? $40 seems way too high.
