But I understand. You gave up everything you had to find me. And you found me broken. It's hard for you.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

He's a Muslim AND his "spiritual leader" is a racist preacher.

Coding and Sleeping

In Utah we saw tons of Obama signs.

In my area of town, I'm probably seeing about 5 McCain/Palin signs for every one Obama sign. In 2004 it was more like 10 Bush/Cheney to 1 Kerry/Edwards, so my informal sign poll looks promising as well.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

We've only got 2 Republicans at work, so we have lower our venting volume whenever they are around, other than that it's pretty much an anti-Bush/McCain free-for-all.

Mostly Obama stickers on cars and yard signs in my neighborhood. Only one or two lonely McCains.

The status is NOT quo.

I'm glad you and Lucy are home together, Brenda. Hang in there. It's hard, I know, but I promise it gets easier. {{{Brenda & Lucy}}}

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Brenda, thinking good thoughts for you and Lu.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Welcome home, Lucy.

As a fellow worrying ailing pet haver, you are in my thoughts, brenda. It will be hard to adjust, for both of you, but it will be done.

As an antidote, msbelle, I'll tell you the tale of a Target: there were too little boys clustered in front of the main videogame display. One of the games had caricatures of Obama and McCain. I guess it was some weird debate game. Anyway, one kid was wearing a blue shirt, the other a red. They were identifying the cartoons as McCain and Obama, correctly. Blue was explaining to red that if they played it, he'd get to be Obama because he was blue. Redshirt wailed "I don't want to be McCain!!!" and sat down, hard, on the floor, angry. They were both in the 7-8 range.

I just grinned at their apparent dad.

More somberly, I just came across this project concerning Hiroshima, 1945: [link] It's ...well, it is worth a moment, but expect to get upset. It's upsetting, as it should be.

ION, it appears I may be lending money for a car. Not mine. It's one of those situations where I'm the last resort and, well, I can do it. With my money issues (which I don't think she knows the extent of, and I'd like to keep it that way) I'm tripping all over the place. It's a good thing to do and I'd hate myself if I didn't. And my latent penny-pinching asshole is making me mad. but me being the last resort has a history and I know she isn't trying to use me and I don't feel used, but I don't want this to be a habit that marrs our friendship

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Welcome home, Lucy.

Frances knows that we're voting for Rock Hobama in our house. Isaac still thinks we're voting for Rosh Hashannah.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Frances knows that we're voting for Rock Hobama in our house. Isaac still thinks we're voting for Rosh Hashannah.

That's a good ticket. I vote with them.

Rock the Hashannah! (Shariff don't like it)

Welcome home, Lu. We kiss your smiling face. Get better, hoppity.
