well, there's another - "doom of the gods" - that is more doom-y, but moira is the most common translation. (thanks to my Oxford English Dictionary & classics teacher) It means 'lot' or 'portion' and was extended to mean 'lot in life' with a lot of weight attached to it. The Moirae are so named because they're the three fates in Greek mythology - the "apportioners."

As for Columbus, Ohio, the Association did the theme song for the movie Goodbye, Columbus back in the '60s. Which I think is kind of misnamed, because one of the supporting characters (as opposed to one of the main characters) is the recent grad of Ohio State, but that's my issue.

While he may have picked a number of missteps, I think the selection of Kiss' "Beth" and Springsteen's "Dancing in the Dark" says more about the writer's macho insecurities than the music itself. And how can you look down on "Should I Stay or Should I Go?"
